And I shall call this one.... Spike!

Here's a gluten free hedgehog made this week, this may be the CUTEST cake I ever made! The bottom is not gluten free, it was a carrot cake which I very much wanted to break off a piece and eat, but I suppose they might not have appreciated that haha.

It was a very busy week of cakes! Another Thomas which hopefully I can get a picture of, the carpenter cake, our little buddy the hedgehog here.. and more to come this month, including another go at the Littlest Pet Shop. Thanks everyone for supporting my favorite hobby :) Keep those requests coming!

#1 Journeyman!

Breann had a par-tay for her man Dustin since he was away for months for school, getting a red seal in carpentry. So, in honor of his coming home and his accomplishment, she requested a carpenter cake :) Here's some Carhartt overalls, a toolbelt and some tools.

Congrats Dustin!

Hello Hailey! Er... I mean Kitty!

For Hailey's 22nd Birthday, her friends Tanya and Christine made a request for a Hello Kitty birthday cake. In fact, the whole party was Hello Kitty themed!!

Here's the cake that I whipped up that happened to match the plates, and the bow matched Hailey's hair!

The cake that Mike made...

So, Mike wanted a Roberto Luongo helmet for his birthday.... it sounded like a challenge, but I was up for it. I started by baking the cake, and stacking them and doing a "rough draft" of the carving... so to speak.
I went to the store... came home... and Mike had taken matters into his own hands! He said that my helmet looked more like this -

He wouldn't stand for anything less than an exact replica of his hockey hero's helmet. See below the results of his hard work.

Pretty impressive! He has nearly out mastered the teacher. He has been promoted from detailing lackey to co-cakemaker. :)

Cakes + Arts and Crafts = Pretty!

So, a very nice girl by the name of Sara saw my cake in the paper and asked me to make her a little something for the kids Christmas Party that WINGS of Providence was holding.
This is what I whipped up for her!

Since I didn`t actually own any snowflake shaped cutters... I cut some out of paper, then laid them down on rolled out fondant and used them as stencils!
Turned out pretty good!

Oh yeah.. ps, I`m famous! :)

I should have posted this a million years ago (or 1 month ago...)

The Edmonton Journal showed me some love on the cover of the LifeStyle section last month!!

Take a look!

This was really exciting, it still is really! I really love decorating cakes and I just can`t believe that my cake was in the paper, such a huge picture!! I`m really proud of this.

Whoops, a month went by without posting!

Hayden's Birthday Cake.... He's a Thomas Fan.

(sorry for the poor quality photo, I took it really quick, I nearly forgot to take one at all!)
